DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: London - Cambridge – York

Welcome to our wonderful 7-day trip of the United Kingdom! Today, travel to the English countryside for some fresh air and beautiful scenery. Arrive in Cambridge and have a quiet punting tour along the river in a traditional riverboat, taking in the gorgeous countryside and ancient architecture. York is the day’s final stop.
This city is a must-see for history fans, as well as those who appreciate excellent architecture and culture. Enjoy an introductory walking tour with your tour leader and learn about the city’s tales and history. Tonight, commemorate the first night of this week-long trip of the United Kingdom with a classic roast supper at a local restaurant in York.

Day 1

Day 1: London - Cambridge – York

Welcome to our wonderful 7-day trip of the United Kingdom! Today, travel to the English countryside for some fresh air and beautiful scenery. Day 2: York - Hadrian’s Wall - Jedburgh – Edinburgh

Depart from York and make your way to the day’s first destination, the spectacular Angel of the North statue. The next destination is Hadrian’s Wall, an old Roman fortress erected during Emperor Hadrian’s reign in 122 AD. Not far distant is the border town of Jedburgh, famous for its royal connections and ancient fighting.
Take in the beautiful architecture of this Scottish border town. Continue your journey through Scotland – the capital city awaits! When you arrive in Edinburgh, your tour guide will take you on an evening driving and walking introduction tour of the city. It’s an excellent introduction to a fantastic city.

Day 2

Day 2: York - Hadrian’s Wall - Jedburgh – Edinburgh

Hike up to Arthur’s Seat for spectacular views if the skies are clear. Or, for an exciting exploration of Edinburgh, accompany your tour guide on a Conquer the Capital optional excursion. This full-day tour includes visits to Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill, and other attractions. Tonight, you may attend a traditional Scottish supper and entertainment for a taste of Scottish culture and possibly a mouthful of haggis.

Day 3

Day 3: Edinburgh

Today is your day to tour the city. Edinburgh, Scotland’s cultural capital, is home to spectacular architecture, art galleries, and memorials. Take a trip back in time and stroll through the Royal Mile’s cobblestone streets.

Join an optional one-hour Loch Ness tour, explore the spectacular ruins of Urquhart Castle, and see if you can spot ‘Nessie’ in the water! Once back on the road, look for Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest peak. Visit one of Scotland’s oldest, licenced whisky distilleries in Fort William for a distillery tour and whisky sampling while you’re there.
Then, go to Glen Coe, a beautiful glen (Scottish term for deep valley) with a deadly past, before continuing on to the Scottish Highlands accommodation for the night.

Day 4
